Light Beings - Connecting the Unseen

Light Beings is a digital photography and videography exhibition exploring light as energy and its potential to connect us to the universe as an interconnected whole. The work attempts to make the unseen tangible, inviting curiosity about how energy moves from the sun through the natural world and the human body, and how light is reflected and transformed through spiritual practices. Through this exploration, Light Beings invites us to consider our existence from a more expansive and interconnected perspective.

Filmed as part of my artist residency @studio88artistresidency in Chiang Mai during the monsoon, moving between low light, heavy rain, clouds and intense sunlight, this time-lapse captures Nelumbo Nucifera ‘Bucha slowly opening to the light. The word “Bucha” (บูชา) comes from the Thai language, which directly translates to “to worship”.
The lotus has long been a symbol of spiritual awakening and transformation. Here, I’m interested in the way light is received, reflected and transformed through the natural world and how these physical processes can become a metaphor for our own connection to something beyond the visible.
