Heavily embedded in the natural world and human experience. Spanning humanitarian photography, photojournalism, abstract nature and urban landscapes. Ellie is self-taught, highly creative and driven by the creative process. Her skill lies in the ability to turn real-life experiences into ethereal art pieces.

Ellie first picked up a camera in primary school, a hobby that stuck around till early high school but dwindled with the teenage years.

After studying Visual Production as part of an interdisciplinary degree at QUT her passion for photography was reignited when she was gifted a camera in 2008. The next ten years were spent travelling, perfecting her eye and undertaking extensive study in the technicalities of light.

Having also spent a lot of time practising Yin Yoga over these years Ellie’s work is heavily influenced by the Yin concept of playing the edge. Through meditation guided by Yin Yoga, it is obvious that there is an edge to be played with everything. Ellie’s work aims to explore the edge of light finding the sweet spot between the light and the shadow.
